Learn to self-treat areas of pain and listen to your body

Goal

To learn introspection and listen to your body, doing stretches with mindfulness and discovering the state of each muscle, which ones are most contracted and how to begin to care for them.

Recommended for

Patients suffering from tiredness, stress, insomnia, lack of concentration, anxiety, contractures, musculoskeletal conditions (subacromial syndrome, epicondylitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, rotator cuff disorders, tendonitis in the Achilles tendon, fascia lata or gluteus, impingements, fasciitis, etc.), back pain and other kinds of muscle pain.

40-minute online consultation with the specialist doctor + 3-hour workshop + 4-hour guided excursion into the mountains with a Body Intelligence expert.

Description

If we observe and listen to our body, for example while stretching, we can learn how to change our habits. We will start to practise mindfulness, the SWITCH that activates awareness.

Online stage

Face-to-face stage

  • 3-hour workshop (morning or afternoon). The expert assigned to you will teach you:
  • How to ask your body how it feels right now.
  • How to identify which muscles are contracted and which are not, sensing the difference.
  • How long you can hold a stretch for a specific muscle group.
  • To discover the pain threshold, comparing one side of the body with the other, to obtain different reference points.

You will also learn the most innovative and efficient techniques:

  • • Acupressure: a technique used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) that consists of applying pressure to different trigger points in the muscles, to relax them and reduce pain.
  • • The inhibition technique, an osteopathic procedure to treat the muscle by applying steady pressure to a trigger point for 10 seconds, to balance and normalise muscle tone.
  • • Various contraction-relaxation techniques to encourage relaxation of the muscles.

Nature stage

  • 4-hour immersion in nature in fabulous mountain surroundings with our Body Intelligence expert (morning or afternoon).
  • Discover and explore the connection with nature through mindfulness and concentration exercises.
  • Expand the senses to create a dialogue with nature
  • Transfer the wisdom of the natural world to your own life.
